Memaloose overlooks the Columbia River but there is no legal or safe access to the river from the campground due to an active Union Pacific Railroad line. It is considered trespassing to travel along or cross over UPRR property. Several legal and safe river access options exist within a 5-15 minute drive from the campground at designated state, city and county properties. All camp sites are furnished with picnic tables and fire rings with cooking grate. Flush toilets and hot showers are available. Showers are free to registered campground visitors. Non-registered visitors may shower for $2.00. Dump station on site. During hot, dry & high fire danger season, campfires or outside cooking may be banned or limited. Interpretive progams and JR. Ranger activities available Memorial Day to Labor Day. See park hosts. Firewood and Ice available for purchase from park hosts. MAKE SURE YOUR SITE MEETS YOUR CAMPING NEEDS Before reserving, please become familiar with the particulars of your chosen site, including the size of the tent pad area and the type of equipment that you may bring to the park. *Note: GPS Navigational System Error: Some GPS systems may direct you to turn South onto old hwy 30 (Historic Columbia River Highway) to get to Memaloose. This direction leads you to Memaloose Overlook NOT Memaloose Campground. Turn around options are limited and drive time could be extended 10-30 minutes. Directions to Memaloose State Park East on I-84: take Rowena Exit 76. Follow signs that say Memaloose. Turn left and re-enter I-84 West (Do not cross RR tracks); Go 3 miles to Memaloose Rest Area and Campground exit. Drive through rest area to Campground Entrance. Turn right into park entrance. (Note: If you cross over the railroad tracks by mistake turn around at the boat ramp parking lot and exit Mayer park. Turn right and re-enter I-84 West. Follow I-84 West directions). West on I-84: take Memaloose Rest Area and Campground exit, milepost 73. Drive through rest area to Campground; Turn right at park entrance. Leaving the park: traveling west - exit park and continue on I-84 West. Leaving the park: traveling east - go 3 miles west to Mosier (exit 69). Turn left to re-enter I-84 East. |

Only one vehicle is included with standard camp fees. A second vehicle kept at a campsite (or alternate parking area) is subject to a nightly Extra Vehicle fee. The nightly Extra Vehicle fee is currently $7.00. Please note: The maximum stay in Oregon State Parks is 14 nights. OPRD established a reservation procedure through the Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) to manage occupancy and access to popular campsites, group facilities and alternative camping facilitlies such as yurts and cabins which states: the maximum time allowed within any Oregon State Park is 14 nights within any 17 night period. The site must be physically occupied each night for the remainder of the reservation stay. OAR 736-0100050 section 2 states: A person must comply with seasons, overnight length of stay and camper checkout times. The reason for implementing the policy and rule listed above are to provide everyone the opportunity to utilize popular camping locations at all Oregon State Parks and to not allow individual(s) to set up occupancy for periods of time exceeding two weeks. There is an $8 reservation fee per site reserved. An $8 transaction fee is charged for any date or site changes made to an existing reservation. *Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the end of the stay will only pay an $8 transaction fee. Please be aware that only the person whose name is on the reservation, their designee or the primary occupant may access, change or cancel the reservation.
